Hire a dedicated team

Hire a Dedicated Development Team

Hire a whole squad, not one engineer: a lead, two to five developers and a QA, working only on your product, running their own standups and delivery process. You set direction and priorities; the team owns how the work gets done.

A dedicated team is a monthly engagement by design, priced per role. It suits a roadmap that needs sustained pace rather than a single pair of hands. If you only need one or two developers you manage yourself, hire dedicated developers instead.

  • Team lead
  • Front-end and back-end developers
  • QA engineer
  • On-demand specialists

A single dedicated developer plugs into your process. A dedicated team brings its own: the lead runs planning and review, protects the developers from thrash, reports to you weekly, and is the one person you talk to when something needs to change. That is the difference between adding capacity and adding a delivery unit.

The team is built around your stack and your phase. A greenfield build might be a lead, two full-stack developers and a QA. An established product might be a lead, a front-end specialist, a back-end specialist, a mobile developer and a QA. You interview the lead and the core developers before anyone starts.

Composition is not fixed. You can add a designer or a DevOps engineer for a phase, drop back to a smaller core between releases, and scale up again, all on 30 days notice with no penalty.

Questions we get asked

How is a dedicated team different from just hiring three developers?

The team comes with a lead who runs planning, review and reporting, and shields the developers from constant re-prioritising. You get a delivery unit you steer, not three individuals you have to manage and coordinate yourself.

Do we still set the roadmap?

Yes. You own what gets built and in what order. The team owns how: estimates, technical approach, sequencing within a sprint, and the standard of done. The lead brings trade-offs to you early rather than after the fact.

What size team should we start with?

Most start with a lead, two developers and a QA, then adjust after the first month once the real pace and the bottlenecks are visible. Bigger is not faster past a point, and we will say so.

What happens if a team member underperforms or leaves?

The lead flags it and we replace like for like within about two weeks, with a paid handover overlap. Because the lead and the rest of the team hold the context, one change does not reset the engagement.

Can we scale the team down between releases?

Yes. Drop to a smaller core on 30 days notice and scale back up when the next phase starts. You are not carrying a full team through a quiet period.

How do you report progress?

A weekly written summary from the lead: what shipped, what is in progress, what is blocked, and any decisions needed from you. Plus whatever lives in your own board and pull requests, which the team works in directly.
